More robots doesn't equal more productivity. This month, VP of Ocado Mobile Robot Systems, @[Mike Harris](urn:li:person:vJpspugprV), shares with @[Logistics Business Magazine](urn:li:person:Bvgi3TjanS) why the next warehouse advantage will come from orchestrated decision making, not bigger fleets. Task execution alone isn't enough and a robot that picks faster doesn't help if the pallet it needs is still waiting at the dock, or if associates are stuck reconciling activity across disconnected systems. Real productivity comes from intelligent orchestration, connecting people, robots, tasks and workflows so the whole operation moves as one. The winners in the next era of fulfilment won't be the businesses with the most robots, they'll be the ones whose systems make the best decisions. 🔗 Read Mike's full article in the September issue of Logistics Business Magazine: https://lnkd.in/ecReYVJJ {hashtag|\#|OcadoGroup} {hashtag|\#|automation} {hashtag|\#|CHUCKAMR}

@[Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd.](urn:li:organization:42817226)'s first Customer Fulfilment Centre \(CFC\) just went live with a fleet of our 600 Series bots 🤖 Globally, over 17,000 bots work together across our CFCs, collectively travelling the equivalent of 153m kilometres a year to get orders ready for customers! But how do they work? And what makes them unique? From single-cell movement design to AI orchestration software that replans bot journeys 10 times a second, meet our bots ⬇️ {hashtag|\#|OcadoGroup} {hashtag|\#|automation} {hashtag|\#|robotics} https://lnkd.in/e5WAYWfi

Great to see the excitement around @[Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd.](urn:li:organization:42817226)'s first Customer Fulfilment Centre \(CFC\) in South Korea! The site is already generating positive results: since launch, the number of orders increased by 30% compared to the month before. Jaewoo Jung, Head of Lotte Mart Online Business Division, said: "So far, we haven’t even seriously begun marketing or promotional campaigns. The fact that orders have increased just by shifting fulfillment from stores to the center is an encouraging sign." NEW: @[Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd.](urn:li:organization:42817226)'s first Customer Fulfilment Centre \(CFC\) opens in South Korea! 🇰🇷 After launching the Ocado Smart Platform \(OSP\) with our In-Store Fulfilment \(ISF\) software last year, Lotte and Ocado have opened their first South Korean CFC, serving a catchment of 4 million households across Busan and the surrounding region. The Busan CFC introduces our fully automated freezer, with temperatures as low as -25° C. This Auto-Freezer is expected to achieve more than double the productivity of a traditional manual freezer. It will also support dawn delivery: enabling freshly packed grocery orders to reach customers' homes before 7am, a unique characteristic of the South Korean market. This CFC is expected to be our most environmentally friendly site in the world: a 100% electric fleet for daytime deliveries, with more energy efficient 3D-printed bots and multi-temperature totes to maximise storage density for delivery. The solar panels installed on the roof are expected by Lotte to reduce annual carbon emissions by over 1,000 tonnes.
