Exploring OSP’s integrations to marketplace and aggregators

Since we began licensing the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) internationally, we have continued to enhance it to accommodate a broader range of retailer needs and rapidly evolving shopper expectations. Today, online remains the fastest growing channel in grocery, with shoppers engaging across multiple channels and digital touchpoints.
A key part of OSP's evolution is our integration with aggregators, enabling grocery retailers to use Ocado’s technology to fulfil and deliver orders placed via multiple third-party marketplaces, as well as through their own webshops and apps.
These integrations are now live with multiple Ocado partners, enabling both Monoprix in France and Morrisons in the UK to tap into new opportunities for market coverage and growth online, supported by Ocado’s world-leading technology.
How we are integrating third-party aggregators
In many markets, aggregators and third-party marketplaces are important extensions of a retailer’s ecommerce presence – providing online grocery access or convenience services that complement their owned online channels.
We have now opened our OSP ecosystem to seamlessly connect with aggregators and marketplaces, enabling partners to use Ocado’s technology to fulfil customer baskets that have been ordered through an increasingly diverse range of channels – be it a retailer’s own webshop, app, or an aggregator. These orders can now flow through a unified fulfilment process, powered by OSP - processed either in Ocado CFCs or using Ocado's in-store picking software.

As a result, fulfilment is streamlined, and the retailer can serve a wider variety of customer missions.
James Gralton, Chief Product Officer, Ocado Group said: “We are empowering our partners to meet customers wherever they choose to shop; whether that’s through the retailer’s own webshop, or via third-party platforms. These orders can be fulfilled through Ocado’s technology and delivered seamlessly, regardless of where they originate.”
Ocado Smart Platform: unlocking growth drivers for retailers
Our marketplace model also brings opportunities to enhance the customer proposition and drive partner growth, as Hannya Boulos, Vice President, Partner Growth, explains:
“These integrations allow retailers to capture incremental demand in their respective markets by introducing their online proposition to a wider audience. Retailers can maximise value from their existing online and offline customer base through their own website and store, while also tapping into new customers who choose to shop across aggregators and marketplaces. This diversified strategy can help lower the cost of acquisition and drive online volumes - whether through Ocado's In-Store Fulfilment, or through highly automated Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs).”
“At the same time, shoppers benefit from greater convenience and choice. They can connect with their favourite brands through their preferred channels, either directly from the retailer or via third-party aggregators”, Boulos explains.
In the second half of FY25, we extended our partnerships with Monoprix in France and Morrisons in the UK, integrating both with a large global aggregator for the first time, and enabling them to extend their market coverage.
