Ocado Group (“Ocado”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick de la Vega as Chief Revenue Officer from 19th November. In this new role, Nick will lead sales and account management across Ocado’s grocery and non-grocery businesses, ensuring that its commercial operations are optimised for the next phase of growth.

Nick joins Ocado from the global IT and consulting business, Atos, where he was SVP and Head of Global Sales. He previously held positions at Hewlett Packard and Electronic Data Systems. In addition to leading all Ocado’s sales teams globally, he will also be responsible for supporting and developing relationships with Ocado’s partners, presently spanning 13 of the world’s leading grocery retailers in 11 markets, as well as clients in sectors like pharmaceutical and apparel.

With most of Ocado’s exclusivity agreements expected to have rolled off across multiple markets by the end of this year, this appointment comes as the business plans to ramp up commercial discussions worldwide.

In addition, Ocado announces the retirement of Mark Richardson, CEO of Ocado Intelligent Automation, who will depart in 2026 after 25 years at Ocado. Mark has played a significant role in the evolution of Ocado from an online grocer in the UK to a global solutions provider. He served as a Director on the Ocado Group board for 12 years and was Group COO for ten years. Most recently Mark has been responsible for expanding Ocado’s solutions beyond grocery ecommerce.

Tim Steiner, CEO of Ocado Group, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Nick to the business at an important moment in Ocado’s evolution. He will play a critical role in taking the Ocado offer to a broader range of customers, as well as developing and strengthening our relationship with existing partners.

It has been almost eight years since we started to bring Ocado's technology to international grocery retailers. Over that time, we have invested significantly in our technology. We will now bring the benefits of this investment back to some of the world's most exciting grocery markets, with a wider fulfilment toolkit, greater flexibility and new commercial leadership.

This is also an important moment to recognise the huge contribution made by Mark Richardson to Ocado during his 25 years with the business, and to thank him for the impact he has made. We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
